How to fix Adobe Flash Update Service problem – for build: 11.3.300.265

As most people have selected the option to allow Adobe Flash Player to automatically update itself there are thousands of people out there who are affected – in fact there are tons of comments over at bugbase.adobe.com where people are complaining about the problem and urging Adobe’s developers to fix the problem – but it’s not going to be easy as the component which enables Adobe to roll out updates to computers is the part which is at fault.

There is no proper fix, but we have found a workaround – it’s very simple!

  1. Firstly click on this link to download a tool which removes all traces of Adobe Flash Player from your computer.
  2. Close all open web browsers and run the tool.
  3. Restart your computer.
  4. Download an older version of Adobe Flash Player 11 (here for Internet Explorer and here for other web browsers – you may need both).
  5. Towards the end of the install it will ask you to choose your update settings, do not allow automatic updates, instead I recommend that you select the option to show notifications when updates are available – just don’t install any update which come your way for a month or so as this will allow Adobe to release a newer build of the application – one which won’t suffer from this issue.

You should no-longer see these annoying error messages, whilst still being able to see Flash content!
